Horus Heresy madness everywhere. It’s no secret that the Horus Heresy series by Black Library sells like hotcakes. More recently, Forge World jumped the gravy train by launching a massive prestige line of Horus Heresy books and miniatures. Now Black Library strikes back with yet another Horus Heresy product. Starting with Macragge’s Honour, they’ll be releasing massive graphic novels set during the Horus Heresy.
Graphic Novel No. 1: Macragge’s Honour
The first of what will become a larger line of graphic novels on the Heresy is called Macragge’s Honour. Evidently, it will focus on the Ultamarines. Here is what the announcement by Black Library had to say on this.
Written by Dan Abnett and illustrated by Neil Roberts, Macragge’s Honour will weigh in at a hefty one hundred pages. The full-colour graphic novel explores the epic naval battle that starts in Know No Fear when Kor Phaeron escapes in the Infidius Imperator and Chapter Master Marius Gage gives chase.
Here are some art previews from the upcoming graphic novel.
Coming November 2013
For everyone getting excited now, I’ll have to put a small damper on that however. By Black Library’s own words, the first Horus Heresy Graphic Novel is still a year out.
For all of you that weren’t there, the event finished with a very special announcement: November 2013 will see the release of a Horus Heresy graphic novel.
Once the Graphic Novels arrive, they will follow the new Black Library format of being released initially as a Black Library exclusive collectors edition.
Initially, Macragge’s Honour will be released in a limited hardback edition, designed to match your other collector’s edition Horus Heresy books and limited edition novellas. As usual, this will be followed by a general release.
Are you intrigued? Do you look forward to picking up some Graphic Novels? Do you think it’s a smart move from Black Library to do these for the Horus Heresy instead of the 41st Millennium of Warhammer 40K?
