Forge World Previews Erebus and Kor Phaeron

Forge World released an interesting video, featuring sculptor (?!) Edgar Skomorowski talk about designing the Horus Heresy miniatures for Erebus and Kor Phaeron, following largely inspiration from Aaron Dembski-Bowden’s First Heretic novel by Black Library.

And of course, the video also shows off the actual miniatures, fully painted and read.

Have a look!

#4 – Thoughts?

Rather unusual miniatures there, with Erebus’ sculpted-on runes and Kor Phaeron’s droopy old-man’s face.

I like it. I think more Heresy Miniatures moving away from Simon Egan’s pompous style would be a good thing. The latter certainly has it’s place, but it’s been dominating the Heresy line a bit too much, in my humble opinion that is.

What do you think?

Kor Phaeron was never a proper battle brother, he never went through gene bulking (too old). He was dying too – I think the face captures this really well.

I have no issues with Egan’s style really, I’m not too keen on the Fulgrim model but I think it captures the character well.

Edgar Skomorowski gets a free pass for life for the Legion Praetors – IMO the best marine mini’s ever made

Very nice models. Though think Erebus looks bit to much like the bog standard Dark Apostle miniature with foot on rock, left arm extended palm up and right hand hold what is essentially a staff. How bout abit more movement?!

He went too chaosy too fast.

This is meant to be First Heretic Erebus.. as in pre-isstvaan.

Kor Phaeron just looks like a monster and his claws are rife for converting chaos lords or a custom Talon of Horus

i thought this was Erebus at the massacre and so would be full chaos

        • Bobthemim

says in the vid that he based them on their FH appearance.

oh and based erebus on that shoddy Dark Apostle

Kor Phaeron looks amazing. I look forward to making him look like Konrad Curze.

I love them. Edgar is amazing at sculpting.

Kor Phaeron looks disappointment (in development it was far steeper, there was some anger in facial expression, claws and armor looked impressive.
and now it looks like the archetypal drunk from next door, the pose is stupid, not speak of erysipelas
