It looks like it’s only for C:SM units. From Faeit212:

“Independent Formation: The Adeptus Astartes Storm Wing Formation does not benefit from the Chapter Tactics special rule, but units from Codex: Space Marines that are included in the same army can begin the game embarked on the Stormraven Gunship, and can embark on it during the game.”

Anybody noticed that appers path 1.1 which according to description claryfying chapter tactics matter?

If units from the primary detachment can embark on it, it could definitely provide some interesting possibilities. For example, if an Ork force was a primary detachment, could an Ork dreadnought be transported? I believe the Stormraven just says it can transport 12 models and a dreadnought, it doesn’t say which types of dreadnoughts are allowed.

It’s definitely a bit unclear on either of those.

Can it transport units from the original “main” detachment? Does it have Chapter Tactics?

The Dataslate is oddly quiet on those.

So if it counts as allies, then you can’t use the Stormraven as a transport for anything (even models from Codex: Space Marines). Definitely seems a little silly. On the other hand, do you get to choose Chapter Tactics for them?

On a side note, the optimist in me chooses to see this as a buff for Dark Angels players! I may grab the Storm Wing after all, as I currently have no flying units.
