It’s only been less than a month since Forge World announced their Horus Heresy book. Far less since we’ve seen first pictures of Angron as a miniature. In this short time – which included Forge World stealing the limelight on Games Day UK – the leather-bound first Horus Heresy book and Angron have stirred up a hype of rarely seen proportions. Today the book and the Primarch became available to buy from Forge World’s website.
The Horus Heresy Hype
I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the new Forge World releases for their Horus Heresy line of books at last week’s Games Day UK. The new Space Marines miniatures look absolutely amazing. The Horus Heresy book, a £ 70,00 monster of a tome, full colour and leather-bound, looks equally impressive. It comes with the rules for four Primarchs for Warhammer 40K, including Angron (obviously), Fulgrim, Mortarion and Horus himself.
Nevertheless, the perhaps truest indicator, however, of the popularity the prospect of playing Warhammer 40K (or, better, 30K) in the time of the Horus Heresy were the truly insane things that could be seen on Ebay. After enterprising Ebay-dealers grabbed pre-release copies of the book and the miniature in Birmingham last Sunday, both products hit eBay for three or four times their already steep retail price.
Seriously? GBP 220.00 for the GBP 70.00 #40k #HorusHeresy book out soon? bit.ly/RnoL5b Guess I should’ve gotten in line at GDUK!

Madness, indeed!
Whatever may or may not motivate people to snap up Forge World stuff at these prices (hell, they shouldn’t really encourage prices like that. Games Workshop might be listening), both the Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal and the miniature of Angron the Red Angel, Primarch of the World Eaters, are now available from Forge World for (comparatively civil) £ 70,00 and £ 50,00 respectively.
Are you ready to play Warhammer 30K? Will you paint Angron or any of the other Primarchs? Let me know and leave a comment below!
