Why the poll? Green Knight Armour and Gorm!
This might risk getting some unwanted bias into the poll. Still, let me explain.
Just today, the Kingdom Death Kickstarter – or rather Adam Poots – unveiled the last Herald of Death reward – the Green Knight Armour!
They are (if you’re not familiar with Herald of Death) free add-ons to any backer who pledged over USD 300,- to Kingdom Death. These are also in game terms (it appears) a very strong suit of armour for your survivors. But, they are also fiendishly hard to acquire!
The Long Way to Green Knight Armour
Why is that difficult?
For one, the group of survivors needs to defeat a whole host of Kingdom Death creatures. And.. played by the rules, it has been said that the game of Kingdom Death will be a fairly difficult one. Failure of a campaign is not going to be uncommon.
For another, these creatures come from a whole choice of expansions.
The Green Knight Armor is a very special and very difficult armor to create. It requires a number of forgotten molds to be collected, reconstructed AND several rare resources from the Dung Beetle Knight, Flower Knight AND the Lion Knight! (you’ll also need some trace amounts of gormite, for the under armor lining!) The armor is masterpiece and it cannot be combined with other armors in the game.
Almost immediately, lots of “house-ruling” started up in the Kickstarter comments. The main question was how to get around some of the requirements. Not everyone (even among those with pledges of USD 300,- or more – it seems – would want all the required expansions.
This got me thinking.. which of the available expansions is the “hit-expansion”? Which expansion is less popular? For which expansions will (the majority of) people pledge and for which expansion will they not?
