Pictures Of The New Chaos Daemons

It is time. The first White Dwarf has arrived and the pictures have spilled. If I get this correctly, the credit this time goes to PlasticKraK Blog (please correct me if I am wrong).

#1 – A Leak is a Leak is a Leak is a Leak?

I have to admit, I am as late to this part as I am conflicted about it. Last night, I was still browsing the usual forums and blogs for signs of these pictures, knowing (like everyone else) that they would be coming. At some point, I just stopped and did a bit of reading instead.

It is feeling a bit formulaic at this point, mainly because Games Workshop is really good at keeping things tight. The pictures “leak” less than handful of days before the White Dwarf is is stores.

From all I can guess, they are not even leaking from somewhere in the production chain, but from independent stockists and even simply subscribers in remote places (PlasticKrak appears to be in New Zealand?) that got lucky with an early delivery.

Is it worth incurring the (potential) wrath of Games Workshop by showing off White Dwarf scans 2 or 3 days before everyone can buy them at the shop? Undeniably, the interest is there. My Dark Angels Pictures leaked still ranks as one of my most popular blog-posts of all time (partly because I had it up a lot earlier than I have this one).

I am still unsure on how to go ahead on that issue on Pins of War. Are “leaks” like this one an important reason why you read my blog (or search the internet)?

    If leaked pics are up, I’ll look. I’m not desperate for them. As for the new daemons, not a big fan.

      I guess I am just a bit nervous that I’ll get an angry Email from GW-legal at some point.

      Daemons are … well .. ok. I like the Heralds. I kinda like the Plague Drones for being comical 80s throw-backs, though I am not sure if I’d field them.

      The larger kits look far too busy to me, but that may or may not change with better pics.

        You won’t get an angry email. Leaked WD images are covered by fair use. If you were posting rules and stats, however, that might be a different story.

        Are these all interchangeable between Fantasy and 40k? Obviously the round-based ones at least CAN be used in 40k, what about the Plague Drones?
        Absolute detest the Blood Throne. It’s managing to simultaneously compete for “worst current sculpt by GW” and “worst-named unit by GW”, though the Skull Cannon is giving it a run for its money on the latter. But seriously, that Bloodletter looks like it’s about to shit on the Throne, and why is it being pulled by bloodletters and not by Fleshhounds or a Juggernaut?
