Warhammer 40.000 Space Wolves Game Announced

Warhammer 40K Space Wolves

The license (prospects?) for a full-fledged “old school” computer game in the Warhammer 40K universe may have sunk with THQ (for now? forever?), but these app-games, browser-games and free2play takes on Warhammer 40K just keep on coming.

Here’s another one: Warhammer 40.000 Space Wolves from HeroCraft, a Russian mobile games developer.

#2 – Warhammer 40.000 Space Wolves Game Info

Warhammer 40.000 Space Wolves will b a free-to-play turn-based strategy game that – so it seems – uses some type of collectible cards to drive the actions of 3D characters. Gamers will play their cards and watch the action play out in realtime, as they lead the Space Wolves into battle against Word Bearers Chaos Space Marines and the Necrons.

Release date is sometime in 2014.

#3 – Thoughts?

It’s (said to be) free to play, so there’s little that could stop people from giving it a try. A Space Wolves game (fighting Chaos Space Marines and Necrons) also seems tailor-made to tide over the fans of these particular armies, all of which are likely to go without a tabletop update for some time.

What do you think?

Would you be interested in anther “casual” Warhammer 40K? A Space Wolves-flavoured game?

    Free-to-play GW game? :D Why do I expect game-breaking pay-to-win cards and add-ons :D
But hey, I’ll give it a try!

Metal Gear Ac!d in Warhammer 40000 world? Why not! But I hope that these cards will look better – design sucks right now ;-)

Lots of free-to-play, essentially become premium by the game mechanics. But let’s wait and see.

True. And it can be annoying if it’s forced on you to play.

That said, unlike something you’ll need to buy off the shelf, you can at least have a look at it for free to start with.

      • Panagiotis Galanis

        Oh that’s true!

It was not my intention to sound negative, I fell victim to the short comments done in mobile devices – (the peculiarities of the digital medias’ hasty methods of typing :D )

Actually it might be a great game that balances things reasonably and all categories of players exist. Even if this isn’t the case, a lot of ex-tabletop players I bet would enjoy playing a 40K related browser game for a premium -there is nothing wrong with that.

For me there was no question as to enter or not, -I will stay out of it purely due to time constraints – truly struggling to find some hobby time as things are.
