Games Workshop keeps piling on Chaos. We’ve just seen the Chaos Space Marines Codex spearhead Warhammer 40K 6th Edition. Warriors of Chaos for Warhammer Fantasy are following right behind. A first “teaser-video” was just released by Games Workshop on YouTube. Like most of these teaser-videos, it doesn’t show much. Except, that the release is imminent.

Games Workshop’s infamous policy of secrecy is clearly working better than ever. The teaser promises a release (meaning things will be available for pre-order) for the end of the week. To my knowledge, no actual pictures or truly confirmed rules have been spilled. Everyone’s waiting anxiously at the Warrior of Chaos’ arrival from the frozen north.
I am usually not much of a Warhammer Fantasy player and I don’t own an army for Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Nevertheless, a themed back-to-back release of Chaos Space Marines and Warriors of Chaos, possibly followed next year by an update for Daemons of Chaos (if Wikipedia is anything to go by), is an intriguing event no less.
Games Workshop is surely pulling all the strings now to put Chaos back on the table. There might actually be a few models that coming that could be used for either game, Warhammer 40K or Warhammer Fantasy Battle. In some categories – such as themed terrain, which is rumoured to be on the way – Games Workshop might well count on enabling such dual-use.
I guess we’ll know more in a week from now!
